Invite a Contractor to get MNCC Verified

Use this short form to flag a contractor you’d like to see on MN Contractor Check. We’ll reach out to them with an invitation to get verified, and we’ll add their status to our internal watch list so Minnesota homeowners can see clearer information before they hire.

Who Should You Invite?

This form works for any contractor you’re considering – whether you’re just starting to collect bids or you already have someone scheduled for work.

  • Companies who seem good but don’t have clear licensing / insurance info online.
  • Contractors your neighbors love, but you’d like an independent check on.
  • Vendors your HOA, board, or property manager uses for regular work.

Once you submit, MNCC will do a quick screening using our Minnesota-specific checks and then invite the contractor to complete full verification and documentation if they qualify.

We don’t sell your info. Your details help us follow up, but MNCC never sells homeowner contact lists. If you’d like, you can also keep your name private when we reach out to the contractor.

Why Inviting a Contractor Matters

Homeowners drive which companies choose to get MNCC Verified. When you invite a contractor, it signals that Minnesota clients care about legitimate licensing, insurance, and clear documentation.

Most contractors respond quickly once they know people in their service area want transparency and Minnesota-based verification — not just ads or paid listings.

What MNCC Screens For

  • Minnesota Secretary of State business registration & standing
  • Proper MN licensing for their trade (when required)
  • General liability insurance verification
  • Service area legitimacy (no storm-chaser or temp-pop-up addresses)
  • Red-flag behaviors tied to scams, disputes, and consumer complaints

MNCC is independent. Contractors cannot buy ratings, badges, or “featured” placement. Every company goes through the same Minnesota-specific verification — no shortcuts, no pay-to-play, ever.

While MNCC is Checking This Contractor

Verification takes a bit of work on our side and theirs. While we review this company, you can take a few quick steps to protect yourself:

  • 1 Get a written estimate that clearly lists scope, materials, and payment schedule.
  • 2 Avoid large upfront payments. Many Minnesota jobs can be structured with smaller deposits and progress payments.
  • 3 Make sure the contract has start dates, an approximate completion window, and how change orders will be handled.

If anything feels off as you talk with the contractor, you can always reply to your MNCC email and share those concerns with us.

What MN Contractor Check Does After You Submit
Step 1
We run an initial Minnesota check

MNCC reviews the contractor’s basic information against Minnesota business records, licensing, insurance, and other public data to see if they fit our verification criteria.

Step 2
We invite them to get verified

If they qualify, we contact the contractor directly with a link to complete full MNCC verification, upload documents, and agree to our standards.

Step 3
We update their MNCC status

As they move through the process, we update their score and badge level so Minnesota homeowners can see their verified status in our directory and on their profile.

A Few Quick Notes About How This Invite Works

Is This a Complaint Form?

No. This invite is for contractors you’d like to see verified by MNCC. If you believe you are dealing with a scam or active fraud, you should also contact the appropriate state or local authorities.

Does the Contractor Have to Join?

MNCC cannot force any company to participate, but homeowner invites carry weight. We’ll let them know there is demand for them to be verified and explain the benefits of going through our process.

Will My Info Be Shared?

We use your contact info to follow up and confirm details. You can choose whether we mention your name to the contractor or keep you in the background while we reach out.

What if They Don’t Qualify?

If a contractor doesn’t meet MNCC’s standards, we won’t list them as verified. In some cases they may be able to address gaps (like missing documentation) and be re-evaluated in the future.
